Hope Beyond Hunger: Meeting Physical Needs, Restoring Dignity

From Children's Village to Future Doctors

Multiplying Leaders Across the Haitian Diaspora

Across Haiti, more than 5.8 million people face food insecurity, while ongoing gang violence continues to displace families from their homes. Through God's faithfulness and the generosity of our partners, ESMI is bringing hope to those in greatest need.

In 2026, five food containers were safely distributed across Haiti, providing the equivalent of 1.5 million fortified meals. Every day, 13,000 students in ESMI's schools receive lunch, helping them stay healthy, focused, and in the classroom. ESMI and MERH pastors have also led community food distributions, reaching vulnerable families with both practical care and the love of Christ.

At the same time, ESMI completed two additional apartments for families displaced by gang violence, bringing the total to 18 homes providing safe shelter for 136 people.

Every meal served and every family housed is a reminder that hope is stronger than hardship. Together, we are meeting urgent needs today while helping build a more secure future for Haiti.

Education is transforming lives across Haiti. Through ESMI's 57 schools, thousands of students receive quality education, daily lunches, and the opportunity to build a brighter future. Higher education continues through the University of Jérémie and its extension campuses, while six students are currently studying medicine in Santiago de Cuba.

Among them are Sherline and Schneidrice, who grew up in Cité Soleil and found hope through the ESMI Children's Village after the 2010 earthquake. This July, both will graduate from medical school and return to Haiti to complete their required year of medical service.

Their journey is a powerful reminder that investing in children today creates the leaders who will transform Haiti tomorrow.

The Gospel brings hope to Haitian communities wherever they are. In the Dominican Republic, where an estimated 800,000 to 1 million Haitians live, many continue to face significant challenges and uncertainty.

For more than five years, ESMI has been investing in Haitian church leaders through training in biblical preaching and theology. Today, those leaders are multiplying the impact by equipping others to faithfully teach God's Word. During a recent visit, additional Christology classes were provided to Haitian leaders serving in Reformed churches across the Dominican Republic.

This ongoing investment is strengthening churches, raising up new leaders, and ensuring the hope of the Gospel continues to reach Haitian communities for generations to come.
